10 useful must-buy items by CanDo
PENNY WISE, POUND FOOLISH?
Items sold in 100 Yen shops in Japan are cheap and many of those are useful. But some of items should be out of choice when it comes to durability.
If you look carefully at each package of the item, it tells you where it was made. You'll know many items sold in 100 shops are made all over Asia. I am not saying all items made in Japan are perfect. In fact, there were times I wasted my money on crappy items that were made in Japan.
There are some items that have decent quality even it's not made in Japan.
This time, I would like to introduce useful kitchen items you can buy at CanDo.
1. Tomorokoshi (Corn) peeler
Easy to use. No need to use knives.
2. Ringo (Apple) cutter
Just place it on an apple and pull down.
3. Nori (Seaweed) puncher
Simply turn handle to make holes on seaweed. It makes seaweed to easier to split.
4. Temarizushi maker
Scoop vinegared rice and shake to make ball shape sushi.
5. Yudetamagokko
Make a boiled egg. While it's hot. Peel off egg shell and put it inside Yudetamagokko. Close the lid and place it inside cold water for 10 min. You may not get it right at the beginning. It took me three eggs to look like a Doraemon.
6. Egg timer
Put it with eggs you want to boil. It tells you how much the eggs are cooked.
7. Microwave spaghetti cooker
Put spaghetti, water and salt and microwave it. Add 4 minutes to original time to boil for 600W.
8. Microwave steamer
No need to waste water for steamed vegetables, no more!
9. Bag Sealer
Wanna save cheetos for later? Just insert the bag between this sealer and slide.
10. Rubber opener
I use this opener to open pickled gherkins jar.
