"Kohchosai Kosuga" (公長齋 小菅) is founded in 1965. May not have the longest history but their bamboo crafts is highly evaluated.
If you are visiting Kyoto, pop into their shop and see modern "artistic" bamboo crafts.

Miyakobashi, (みやこ箸). Price: ¥864 each
Chopsticks for 7 color variation. Yello, pink, purple, blue, red, green, and black. Bamboo chopsticks are thin, so fairly easy to use (pick up food). Mouth touching texture is soft.
Marumado Hashioki, (丸窓箸置き). Price: ¥540 each
Chopstick rest made of composited bamboo. Can be used two ways.
Fukuju Hashioki, (福寿箸置き).
Price: ¥594 each
Bamboo is processed into a circle.
Sekizoichidan bento, (積層一段弁当箱).
Price: ¥6480 each
Banto box (bako) made of multi-layered bamboo. A partition is removable. Finished by craftsman one by one.

Thin strips bamboo is put together to form a ball shape. Combined with a glass jar to place flowers.
