Bib by Ringo no Rizumu
ENJOYING APPLES IN AOMORI IS ONE THING, OTHER ONE IS APPLE GOODS.
60% of total production of apple in Japan is done in Aomori. In fact, most of Japanese would answer "Aomori", if you ask which is the best place to taste apples in Japan.
You might think, "how good apple can be?" Welcome to the party.
You wouldn't believe the first time of eating Aomori's apple. I wasn't an apple fan (in terms of computer, yes though) until I tried it when my uncle insisted on me to eat his souvenir from Aomori, apple. I still remember its smell and flavor; fresh and sour scent from its peel and mellow, sweet taste of the fruits and nectar. It was amazing.
Apples you can buy in Aomori are bigger and tastier and....well, I got carried away.
I am to introduce bib by "Ringo no Rizumu". (りんごのリズム, Rhythm of apple) The brand is run by a company called Kyukosha (久光社). It seems that they don't have 100 years history but the products they make is reliable and unique.
There are tenugui, towels, handkerchiefs, bibs and some other apple related items. All of the products have design of apple which represent the image of Aomori, the place of apple.
Mameshibori bib, (豆絞り スタイ).
Price: ¥650
"Mameshibori" is a term of Japanese design, which you might've seen in Tenugui and other cloth commodities. These polka-dots pattern represents "Beans (mame, 豆)" and beans are considered as good fortune of descendants prosperity because they set very well.
Flipped over. Feel smooth and soft. Made with 100% cotton, in Japan.
Dyed apple dots-like design will crack after a couple of wash. But they cost only ¥650 each and texture is nice and sewing is firm. This sure is a good souvenir representing where you visited.
So, I'd say it's satisfactory.
This tag is the mark. It kind of looks a half cut apple.
Put it on my kid. He is almost 4months old andweights 7kg. This bib should last until its retirement.
There are other colors available.
