GIZA cotton T-shirts by FilMelange

"FilMelange" (フィリメランジェ) is another company which is very particular about material and to be made in Japan. Tees that they make use Giza cotton produced in Egypt. Among Egyptian cotton which is regarded good quality, the highest class cotton features beautiful luster almost like cashmere, smooth silky touch as main feature.
The product in this post I'll be writing about is called "SUNNY". Not too hard to imagine from its name, they are perfect Tee to wear in summer.
The access to their products is great, too. From their flagship store in Tokyo, there are dealers throughout Japan. Plus, 3 dealers overseas, England, China and Malaysia.

SUNNY tees come with package, motif of "mizuhiki".
"Mizuhiki" (水引) is ancient Japanese form of using cord used for ceremonial occasions. FilMelange's thoughts are put into even its package.
The triangle neck tag is sewed its size and "Made in Nihon". A word "Nihon" is Japanese word for "Japan". FilMelange's products are made with concentration of Takumi's sophisticated skills. Due to aging of craftsmen and increase of cheap imports, production of clothing in Japan is in crisis of extinction. FilMelange's clothing is made with pride of Japan.
Made with supreme quality cotton, 100%. Nice to see washing instruction in English, especially when they are $75 tees.
A shoulder to shoulder chain stitch is called "taco binder". Works as great accent and reinforcement.
It is hard to find loosened string on FilMelange's tees. That's how much Japanese craftsmen are dedicated to their jobs.
