There are not many Hakata doll makers remaining in Fukuoka. Out of few companies of Hakata doll, "Ningyo no Goto" (人形のごとう) has been long-established and highly evaluated.
Hakata doll, AKA "Hakata ningyo" (博多人形) is unglazed clay dolls. They are motif of people in past, so clothings of the people as Women with Kimono, Samurai with spear, Man at Yamakasa festival. Depending on size of the doll, you may need to arrange international shipping which cost around $50 extra. Some of Hakata dolls are smaller and less expensive, being one of the most unique souvenir to your home.
