No exaggeration made here, this would seriously be a big loss if you didn't try them.

Price is good too, 12 wafers for ¥800 ($7).

They sold in major train station of each region or airport.

otonano amasa

Kit-Kat, bitter version.

Sold in: All over Japan

The one made me chocoholic. Not too sweet, very slightly bitter chocolate flavoring with smooth cacao. This is not limited version, so not too hard to find.

hokkaido melon

Hokkaido melon with mascarpone cheese.

Sold in: Hokkaido

Powdered mascarpone cheese is put between roasted wafers and covered with white chocolate Hokkaido melon flavoring. Mellow sweetness of melon and refreshing cheese smell.

shinshu apple, ringo

Sinshu ringo. (Apple)

Sold in: Sinshu (around Nagano)

Sinshu-ringo means "apple harvested in Shinshu (Nagano region) ". Sweetness of the apple is put inside roasted wafer and covered with milk chocolate.

Well known wasabi shop in Shizuoka, Tamaruya. Nestle and Tamaruya worked together to make this product. Combination of wasabi's elegant piquant and mellow sweetness of white chocolate harmonize the taste.

Believe it or not, this one is really good.

adzuki, azuki, sando, sandwich

Sold in: Tokai and Hokuriku

Famous food in Tokai area called, "Ogura toast". That is adzuki bean (red bean) sandwich which you better try out when you are going to Tokai area. This Kit-Kat tastes like just like one, cream with red bean in roasted wafer and covered with milk chocolate.

ujimatcha, matcha, green tea

Collaboration product made by Nestle and long history tea shop, Ito Kyuemon. Matcha is powdered green tea which tends to have slightly bitter and sweet taste. With such matcha, it is kneaded with white chocolate covering roasted wafer.

Sold in: Kyoto and Kansai

Another collaboration product by Nestle and Ito Kyuemon. Hojicha is roasted green tea whereas most Japanese tea is steamed. Roasted green tea is kneaded with chocolate covering the wafer. Fragrance of roasty tea get along with chocolate so good.

kobe purin, kobe pudding

Kobe pudding.

Sold in: Kyoto and Kansai

Well known pudding in Kobe, my parents used to buy them as a souvenir for every time they went Kobe city. This pudding is way more thicker and sweeter than ordinal pudding in Japan. (yum yum...) Mellow, full-bodied and fruity (in a way) taste.

momiji manju, hiroshima souvenir

Sold in: Hiroshima

Momiji (maple) manju (bun with bean jam paste) is very popular souvenir that is a sweet almost everyone going to Hiroshima bring back with. Powdered bean jam is in between wafers and covered with momiji manjued flavoring white chocolate. This is the only Kit-Kat has unique shape to put a punch mark of maple leaf.

Sold in: Fukuoka and Kyushu

Strawberry breed of Fukuoka brand. (In my opinion, thickness in the taste is a bit more than Tochiotome strawberry.) Wafer is covered with strawberry flavored white chocolate.

kumamoto version of kit-kat, kumamoto tea

Kumamoto cha. (Kumamoto tea)

Sold in: Kumamoto, Kyushu and Okinawa

Kumamoto tea powder is mixed with bitter chocolate. Each sales of this box makes a donation from Nestle to Kumamoto city. Let's supoport them.

beni imo, okinawan sweet potato

Beni-imo, Okinawan sweet potato.

Sold in: Okinawa and Kyushu

Elegance in potato was a myth until I taste one. This sweet potato contains affluent anthocyanin which helps your vision widely harvested in hot area like Okinawa. Not sure this Kit-Kat helps your vision too, but hey, taste is the only thing matters. (right?)

Limited edition of Kit-Kat, and not announced when this product will be out of the market. Tastes JUST like sake (no alcohol) with after taste and fragrance of sake-like amplifying aroma. This product is becoming more and more popular among oversea tourists, Nestle Japan may just continue its production.

Limited edition of Kit-Kat for spring time. Freeze-dried raspberry juice is kneaded into dough which makes it slightly sourly and mild sweetness.

premium mint, limited, gentei

Premium MINT.

Limited edition of Kit-Kat for summer time. Mint and feuillantine flavor is kneaded in chocolate, which makes it refreshing minty aroma and feuillantine crispy texture.

Limited edition of Kit-Kat for autumn time. Granular strawberry is kneaded into dough which makes it so "strawberry" and fresh sourness.

Not sweet as other strawberry ones.
