Musubi-tie-pin by Nijiyura
BOW TIES FROM A COUNTRY OF "BOW".
For your special occasions, some of you may wear a bow tie. For those of you, let me tell you about bow tie made from Tenugui (てぬぐい) cloth.
Tenugui speciality shop called Nijiyura runs its business in Osaka, Kyoto, Hyogo, and Tokyo. Their products are not only durable but also made and colored by traditional way, Chusen (注染).
"Chusen" is a way of cloth coloring in Japan, a way it was born in Osaka. 20 to 30 cloths are piled up and pour (注) to dye (染). Nijiyura is a Tenugui maker specialized in Chusen.
As I may have pointed out in my past post, the texture of Tenugui is what I would like you to enjoy. It gets soft as you use. The very first hardened texture is because of pasting used in dyeing process.
