I used to work in a small company in Saitama where manufacture one of engine parts used in satellite. So, in a way, manufacturing industry in Japan is supported by small factories, like Karasawa yasuri. A small factory run by small group of workers carry out delicate jobs.
Karasawa yasuri is a company of making variety of files, from engineer use to daily use, run by just 13 workers. Amount of products that they produce a day won't be enormous. But the quality of their product cannot simply be explained with words. Let's just say mass-produced products is no match to their art work.
Tsume yasuri, standard. (Nail file)

A curved line on the file along with nail curve, made with high-carbon stainless steel, and hand-made. This file won't need a special care to maintain, simply avoid water.
Kakato yasuri. (Heel file)
Price: ¥6,480
Curved file is easy to fit in your hand, making easy to use. If you want to care your heel for summer season, or get a run in your pantyhose often. Maybe it's time to buy one of these.
These products last more than 10 years without special maintenance. These are must buy.

They are not selling at their factory. You can find their products in Jiba sangyo center, Niigata airport, Mitsukoshi (Niigata), and Tokyu hands.
