Sweets by Chidoriya (Osaka)
WON'T LAST LONG SO BUY THEM AT VERY LAST OF YOUR TRIP.
A company called Chidoriya was divided into 4 groups and each operates in different area of Japan. (Each Chidoriya makes slightly different products.) This time, I'd like to introduce one of my favorite kind, mitarashi.
Mitarashi is a kind of sauce, normally used to be poured on sweets or to dip. It's made out of sugar and soy sauce. It's so creamy and sweet, having mellow soy sauce flavor. And the sauce is often used on many sweets.
Chidoriya in Osaka makes something unique sweet. Put the mitarashi sauce inside mochi, called "mitarashi komochi". Ko means child or small in Japanese. So, a word komochi means small mochi.
Mitarashi komochi. (The Japanese rice cake)

It only last for 3 days tops. You can eat it after 3 days, but mochi's deliciously soft texture won't be guaranteed. A bite-sized mochi is filled with melllow mitarashi sauce. Buying more than 1 box (contains 12 mochi) will save your money. Buy a box for tasting, and if you like them, buy more.
