Tinware by Satsuma-suzuki
TINWARE MAKES WATER TASTES BETTER AND FLOWER LASTS LONGER.
Tin is natural water filter because it observes impurities. So, keeping water in tinware makes the water to become less stained. Another reason to make tin the perfect material for crafting is its softness as metal. Easy to process.
No wonder tinware is one of the best tool to make tea. Also, the form of tin products is curvy and roundish is very beautiful to simply look at.
Tinware ("suzuki", 錫器) is often found in Kansai area and Kagoshima rather than Tokyo. That is because the tin is produced in Kagoshima and sold in Kansai (Osaka).
Satsuma-suzuki has more than 100 years of experience in tinwares. Producing tea canister, liquor set, plates and so on. If you are planning to travel through Kyushu, extending your journey to Kagoshima would be a good idea.
Tea canister oxidized processing "Fubuki", (茶筒 イブシ加工 吹雪).
Price: ¥29,160
Capacity of 90g. "Ibushi" processing is kind of tarnish (oxidized) the surface to be uneven. This process is done to show "Fubuki" (吹雪, blizzard in Japanese).
The best feature I want to point out is its sealability. Inner lid falls slowly and fits perfectly when let go. (Try it when you see one.) The way it goes simply tells how high the thing can be sealing up. Although the name is "tea canister", you can always use it for anything that requires high sealability within its capacity.
